I know anyone following Beck’s record club will have heard of this guy by now. He’s a fascinating figure - was once a drummer in Jefferson Airplane and defected once Grace Slick joined the group. He went on to make his own recordings but later burned out due to mental problems - likely an acid casualty. He was known to start mayhem with a fire axe and spent some time in Bellevue diagnosed as a schizophrenic and that was before he recorded this album “Oar.” This is the only album he made before be died in 1999.
