Total Eclipse of the Heart
Woah. Bonnie Tyler is holed up in some British school where there are altar boys with freaky glow stick eyeballs and some extras from a few Broadway musicals dance around her. Not quite Thriller but equally um theatrical. I just wish I could’ve listened in on the pitch for this video. “So, we’re going to have bonnie doing this sort ‘Bodyheat’ meets ‘The Wall’ sort of thing..” Favorite part: Turn around bright eyes. Worth seeing it through to the end.
But there’s something relatable between this song and Air Supply’s “Making Love Out of Nothing At All.” Out of all the powerballads out there, these seem to be two sides of the same coin.
